PDP’s Energizer XBOX ONE 2X Smart Chargers Are Being Recalled

By Keith MitchellMarch 15, 2017

Heads up, Xbox One and PC gamers. If you happen to own PDP’s Energizer’s Xbox One Battery Charger with item number 048-052-NA, stop using it, immediately. There have been numerous reports that this specific charger can cause harm to not only your Xbox One controller but can also overheat and melt the plastic casing.

Over 121,000 units have are being recalled. This does not include the Energizer – Smart Charger for Xbox One, only the Energizer XBOX ONE 2X Smart Charger. For more information regarding the recall, click here.

Should you own this charger, like I do, please contact Performance Designed Products at 1-800-263-1156 for a full refund. You can also visit https://support.pdp.com/hc/en-us/requests/new to submit a ticket online for the recall.

Sadly, this was one of the better Xbox One battery chargers, in my opinion. What put it over the rest is that it included a gauge that told you how much charge your controller had. Sure you could turn on the Xbox One to see the charge, but this was basic and fast. However, recalls are no joke. If you have this charger, please contact PDP as soon as possible and your refund.

I’ve already contacted the company and are now looking for a replacement.
