After the unexpected leak last week, Sega has doubled down and trademarked a particular piece of evidence to link the footage for New Virtua Fighter Project. Virtua Fighter Crossroads has trademarked by Sega, according to Virtua Fighter Dot Com. The title itself was published on June 1st.
On Chizai-Watch, SEGA corporation trademarked:

This is the same title seen in the Virtua Fighter leak which solidifies the connection. This is probably the most we’ll probably get from Sega before the footage is publicly released by them in its entirety. As for the name, it’s probably not the most expected here. Virtua Fighter’s story is usually locked within the confines of instruction manuals and possible crossover games such as Project X Zone, so it’s hard to say where they’re going with this.
We’re at the sixth main game of the series, yet thanks to time, 20 years is a while to tack on a number. Just ask the Killer Instinct reboot. Crossroads could be something that is connected to changes in the wind for the series.

Sega has been slow-cooking with The New Virtua Fighter Project since its’ Video Game Awards announcement. Wolf and Akira were the only to main timeline characters to return in official gameplay shots. Veteran World Tournament participant Pai Chan was also in the leak with a similar kit to her Ultimate Showdown appearance. Media for the game has months apart with RGG only providing occassional letters from Aokisan about Ultimate Showdown / REVO World Stage updates.
No additional content has been released by Sega themselves to comment on the new name nor footage as of yet.
