When X-Men ’97 hit screens, fans of the franchise rejoiced at a return to quality animation and solid storytelling. And now, those same fans can celebrate getting a second season this summer with just as much action and nostalgic faves. But can it live up to the hype?
The trailer features a look at the new plot line, featuring Apocalypse as the big bad for the season. It looks like the X-Men are going to have some time-hopping shenanigans, and one can only hope it goes better for them than it did in the live-action movies. We also see Rogue mourning the death of Gambit, who tragically gave his life last season. We also see Wolverine back, alive and ready to kick ass. And we briefly see Morph take on Deadpool’s appearance. Does that mean the Merc with a Mouth might make a real cameo at some point? Only time will tell.
