Stellar Blade Complete Edition is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, and now SHIFT UP has confirmed that players will get their first public hands-on with the game at Tokyo Game Show 2026, with the Switch 2 version will be playable at the SEGA/ATLUS booth at Makuhari Messe from September 17 through September 21.
Why at the SEGA booth? Well, SEGA is distributing the physical edition in Japan, so that makes sense. There will be six playable stations available, marking the first time the public will be able to try Stellar Blade on Nintendo’s latest hardware. It’s also likely going to be a hell of a time trying to get in line to play the game.
SHIFT UP CEO and Stellar Blade creator Kim Hyung Tae will also appear on the SEGA/ATLUS stage on Sunday, September 20. The presentation will be held in Korean with Japanese interpretation and will also be livestreamed through SEGA Japan’s official YouTube channel. An exact start time has not yet been announced.
The TGS showing should give us a much better idea of how Stellar Blade performs on Switch 2, especially given the game’s fast-paced combat and detailed environments. The title originally launched on PlayStation 5 before making its way to PC, so seeing how SHIFT UP adapts the experience for Nintendo’s hardware will be worth watching.
It is also another example of how much third-party support the Switch 2 has been receiving. Companies including Capcom, Square Enix, SEGA, ATLUS, Bethesda, Ubisoft, and EA have all thrown significant support behind the system, and it is starting to feel a little like the Super Nintendo days, when Nintendo hardware was home to a huge mix of first-party and major third-party releases.
It is still early in the Switch 2’s lifespan, but games such as Stellar Blade making the jump to Nintendo hardware, not to mention Elden Ring, Lies of P, Pragmata, Resident Evil Requiem and Dragon’s Dogma II, are all strong signs that publishers are taking the platform seriously. Stellar Blade Complete Edition is scheduled to release for Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2026.
