A new theatrical anime called We Are Aliens (Wareware wa Uchuujin) has been announced for 2026.
Kohei Kadokawa has quite the workload as he is responsible for planning, writing, directing, storyboarding, and editing the film. The film is being co-produced by MYU PRODUCTION, a studio in France.
The story of We Are Aliens is described as follows:
The movie follows two friends, Tsubasa and Gyotaro, who meet in the summer of their third year as elementary school students. Inseparable at first, their friendship is disrupted by a trivial incident, only for them to reunite some 30 years later in a journey that subtly questions the meaning of life.
