At PlayStation State of Play this morning, we got a brand-new trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, and it also showed a lot of new information surrounding character customization. I have tracked Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 and most of everything that was announced. I even got a chance to watch it before anyone else. We even got a chance to interview the producer of the game, Masayuki Hirano. So whenever a new trailer drops, I am hyped for more information.
The game trailer itself is focused on showcasing the various skills you can learn from different characters in the game. It also showcases your normal fighting pose, and the style isn’t locked to a specific race or gender. It showcases various races with different fighting styles. There are over 130 characters from which you can get skills and fighting styles, which means this is going to let you have a lot of choice in how you want to customize your character.
Which brings us to one new thing that was added to the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series: the sixth confirmed playable race, Android. You can make a character with these six races: Earthling, Saiyan, Namekian, Frieza Race, Majin, and now Android. We saw a brand-new form briefly for the Majin race with a golden aura, and I wonder if that is one way to add transformations by letting other races have Super Saiyan-equivalent transformations. I am stoked to see more of what we find out! Recent Gamescom press demos also show that the Transformation timer has changed. It no longer has a timer for Super Saiyan itself. Or maybe it is to showcase that once you reach higher forms of Super Saiyan, you can control the less powerful forms of Super Saiyan. We will have to see when more information comes out about the game.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is currently slated to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam.
