Back in July, Final Fantasy VII Revelation director Naoki Hamaguchi shared that he hoped the game would get a physical edition. And we almost got one, but Sephiroth intervened–Oh wait, no, we got one. Revelation will receive a physical and digital release in April. In fact, it has a few different editions that eager fans can preorder.
According to a Square Enix press release, players can preorder physical and digital editions of Final Fantasy VII Revelation for most modern consoles. Digital Nintendo Switch 2 preorders will open at a later date.
So, let’s mosey on over to the various editions, shall we?
Standard Physical Edition
The Standard Physical Edition of Final Fantasy VII Revelation comes with the base game in all its physical disc glory. It also offers some bonuses if you get the Day 1 Edition. Through Amazon, the Day 1 Edition includes a poster. Most other retailers offer it with an exclusive Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Final Showdown Promo Card. And it’s a pretty nifty card too, providing a boardwipe set against the backdrop art of Cloud and Sephiroth duking it out.
The Standard Physical Edition retails for $69.99.
Deluxe Physical Edition
The Deluxe Physical Edition gives you the base game along with a few physical goodies. It includes a mini-soundtrack, an artbook, and a steelbook case featuring cover art referencing all three games in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. And again, the Day 1 Edition will net you that MTG Promo Card.
The Deluxe Physical Edition retails for $99.99.
Collector’s Edition
The Collector’s Edition for Revelation is a doozy. It includes everything from the Deluxe Edition as well a premium statue. And what makes this statue premium? Well, the Collector’s Edition for Rebirth included a statue of Sephiroth. So if I had to guess, I’d say the fact that this statue includes Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth makes it premium.
But that’s not all. The Collector’s Edition also includes a Story Expansion Pass, granting access to two story-centered DLCs releasing in late 2027/early 2028. You’ll also get the in-game items of the Reclaimant Choker, the Nymphwing Bracelet, the Risk Taker’s Choker, the Mecha-Chocobo & Moogle Summon Materia, the Polydroid Alexander Summon Materia, and the Survival Set of useful in-game consumable items.
The Collector’s Edition retails for $349.99. It’s exclusive to the Square Enix store.
Digital Editions
For those who wish to purchase Final Fantasy VII Revelation digitally, Square Enix still has a few options for you as well. The Standard Edition gets you the base game. The Premium Edition gets you the game, the Story Expansion Pass, the Reclaimant Choker, and the Survival Set. Notably, it also gives you access to the game 24 hours early.
The Premium Plus Edition gives you everything from the Premium Edition. While it doesn’t have a statue of our three guys, it still has a few digital offerings. It includes digital versions of the mini-soundtrack and artbook. And it includes the in-game Risk Taker’s Choker, Nymphwing Bracelet, and Polydroid Alexander Summoning Materia.
The Digital Editions costs $69.99 for the Standard Edition, $99.99 for the Premium Edition, and $109.99 for the Premium Plus Edition.
More Final Fantasy VII Revelation Bonuses
If that isn’t enough bang for your gil, Final Fantasy VII Revelation has a few other incentives in store. Soon, you’ll be able to preorder the Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy Edition. This includes Remake, Rebirth, as well as access to Revelation once it releases.
Already have Remake or Rebirth? Players with save data from Final Fantasy VII Remake will gain access to the Chocobo & Moogle Summon Materia and the FFVII Remake Weapon Set in Revelation. And players with save data from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will unlock the Phoenix Summon Materia and the FFVII Rebirth Weapon Set in Revelation.
