If you’ve been playing Crimson Moon on PC with a keyboard and mouse, there’s some good news. The recently released action RPG/Roguelike, which I’ve been having a blast with, launched without a few features PC players would normally expect, such as the ability to rebind keyboard and mouse controls. Which has in turn, resulted with the game seeing mixed results over on Steam. Thankfully, developer ProbablyMonsters has already started addressing that.
ProbablyMonsters has pushed a new update to the PC version (patch 1.0.0.1) of Crimson Moon that adds keyboard and mouse remapping alongside mouse sensitivity controls. That means players are no longer stuck using the game’s default keyboard layout and can finally start adjusting the controls to better suit how they play.
There is one important caveat, however. ProbablyMonsters says the new keybinding functionality is currently considered an Alpha implementation, with the developer choosing to get basic remapping into players hands sooner rather than waiting until the feature was completely polished. Because of that, there are still some limitations, and ProbablyMonsters is asking players to continue providing feedback regarding what works, what doesn’t, and which additional keybinding options they would like to see added. The studio says it plans to continue improving the feature in future updates.
And keyboard controls aren’t the only thing being worked on. ProbablyMonsters also confirmed that the team is currently addressing camera improvements, progression issues, crashes, and other feedback from players, with more information on upcoming updates expected soon.
It’s good to see ProbablyMonsters moving quickly on this because the lack of keybinding was one of the more noticeable omissions in the PC version of Crimson Moon. I’ve really enjoyed my time with the game so far, and hopefully this is just the first of several updates that continue smoothing out some of its rougher edges, including the ability to also remap controller buttons.
