Suda 51, Masahiro Sakurai and Other Japanese Legends Meet Up In Special Dinner

The power of friendship!!!!

Look, I know that this isn’t the most important story out there in the world right now. But if we’re being honest with ourselves…the world is definitely NOT in the best place. Even if we boil things down to the gaming industry, there are plenty of things going wrong within it, and we need “little things” to make us happy. It can be the release of a new game you’ve been waiting on, or a teaser for the next game in a big franchise…or it can be finding out that Masahiro Sakurai and Suda51 hang out with other gaming legends on the regular.

Yes, that is indeed what happened. Suda51 posted a picture of himself at a dinner with other game development icons, including Masahiro Sakurai (who just released Kirby Air Riders for the Nintendo Switch 2), Shinji Mikami (one of the key people behind Resident Evil), and Fumito Ueda (who did ICO and Shadow of the Colossus!)

Oh, to be a fly on the wall in that room! Seriously, can you imagine what they talked about?

One of the funnier elements of this “get together” is that certain fans commented on what it would be like if these four got together to make a video game. It certainly would be an experience! Who else could we throw in there to add to the fun? Yuji Horii? Hideki Kamiya? The possibilities are out there…

So, if you are having “one of those days,” and you need something to make you smile, then take a look at this picture and see that some of the coolest and most creative people in gaming are indeed friends and hang out every once in a while.
