Bloodborne is one of those IPs that seems to get a lot of attention for only having one video game and one release of that game. It has come up in almost every stream chat of Sony’s State of Play, where fans want a remake or a remaster that is put on PlayStation 5 with better graphics or with a better framerate. Even on our website, we have posts that talk about the reasons why Bloodborne should get some effort in either a remake, a remaster, or even just an update patch for PS5 support.
This morning, the internet was surprised to see Bloodborne become a trending topic, but this time it was due to a new announcement involving none other than jacksepticeye. jacksepticeye is a large gaming YouTuber who regularly plays video games on his channel. This YouTuber gets to be one of the people in charge of an animated adaptation of the video game Bloodborne.
Bloodborne was announced at Cinemacon 2026 by Sony Pictures. jacksepticeye is one of the leading producers of the animated film adaptation. Sanford Panitch of Sony Pictures stated that the film will be “very true” to the gory spirit of “Bloodborne.”
Lyrical Media, parent company of Lyrical Animation, is co-financing Bloodborne with Sony Pictures. Lyrical Media will also be helping produce it alongside jacksepticeye and PlayStation Productions.
Not much else is known about the film beyond what was announced at CinemaCon and reported by Variety, but it’s good to see Bloodborne is back in the mainstream talking spots!
This might be copium, but maybe this would at least lead to PlayStation giving the game a 60 FPS patch. Bloodborne, the video game, is available to play on PlayStation 4 and is backwards compatible on PlayStation 5. The animated film is in active production. You can read our review of the video game on the website.
