The Mandalorian Season 3 Trailer Shows Mando and Grogu Heading to Mandalore

By Keith MitchellJanuary 16, 2023
The Mandalorian Season 3

The newest trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 dropped during the NFL Wild Card game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on January 16, 2023. While I’m sure fans of both teams were tuned in to watch the game, many more were just there for the trailer.

Not only did we get a fantastic trailer, but news that The Mandalorian Season 3, will premiere on Disney Plus on March 1st, 2023.

There’s a lot going on in the trailer, and I had to watch it a few times. Still, several things stand out, including Din Djarin and Grogu heading to Mandalore so that Mando can be forgiven for his past actions.

Those who’ve watched the show know that Din Djarin removed his helmet in the presence of others, and that’s forbidden. Between the episodes of The Mandalorian, he’s removed his helmet in front of others, including Grogu. Which eventually got him kicked out of his tribe during The Book of Boba Fett season 1 “Chapter 5: Return of the Mandalorian.”  Not to mention he did lie about removing his helmet, once or twice.

Now he seeks redemption, and heads to the home of the Mandalorians — Mandalore, to do so. What’s going to be interesting is that he still possesses the Dark Saber. A weapon that can rival a Light Saber, but also symbolizes that whichever Mandalorian possesses this weapon is also the leader of the Mandalorians. The Dark Saber is something that Bo-Katan wants, and despite Din Djarin offering it to her, she doesn’t take it — for valid reasons. I suspect that this is going to play out during the third season.

Among that, we saw several Lightsaber-wielding Jedi, which is interesting as those who were left alive, went into hiding after Order 66 — unless this is a flashback (I hope it isn’t). Oh, Grogu is using the Force again, but not he’s not falling asleep. I suppose those lessons with Luke Skywalker paid off.

There there’s this talk about something dangerous happening, something so dangerous that by the time anyone knows about it, it will be too late.

I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to The Manadalion Season 3, which premieres on Disney Plus on March 1st, 2023.
