Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 PC Open Beta Starts Today

By Keith MitchellJanuary 16, 2023
MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATION 2 - Steam Announcement _ PC

Over the past few months, Bandai Namco has been working on the PC port of Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2, and on January 16th, 2023, at 9 PM PST / January 17th, 2023, 12 AM EST, the second open beta for the game will start.  This open beta will run until January 19th, 2023, 12 AM PST / 3 AM EST.

For those interested in participating, head to the Steam page and request access.

Sadly, the first open beta was a mess, and the developer wasn’t able to collect the data it needed. Not to mention that the servers couldn’t handle the stress of thousands, if not millions, of Gundam fans who were looking forward to playing the game on the PC. Here’s to opening the same won’t happen to the upcoming beta.

This is the Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 Steam Operation Team.

We sincerely apologize that we were unable to conduct the network test on the scheduled date in April due to the high server load caused by the heavy access, which made it difficult to connect to the game and prevented the game from being saved properly.

Since then, we have investigated the cause of the problem and taken corrective measures, and now that we are on schedule to resume the network test, we are preparing to conduct the network test again in early 2023. We apologize again for the long wait, and we will continue to improve the quality of the service based on the feedback we have received from users during this test. We will release more details on the network test schedule and content as they become available.

Can I transfer my PS4 or PS5 data to the PC version?

Well, for starters, the game hasn’t been officially released for the PC, these are just betas. So, no, you can’t transfer your data over for those. However, Bandai Namco has already addressed that question regarding the full game when it eventually makes it to the PC. Sadly, there won’t be any data transfers for the PC version. If you’ve been playing the PS4 or PS5 version, you’ll have to grind everything again on the PC version.

Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 is a free-to-play team battle action game based on the “Mobile Suit Gundam” series of the Universal Century. Become the strongest MS pilot through 6 vs. 6 battles. Unlike other Gundam games, this is more of a slower-paced game, forget about the arcade-like playstyle found in Gundam Evolution, or Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS-Force, and I actually enjoy that more.

I’ve been looking forward to this game on the PC, and I’m crossing my fingers that this open beta won’t be a mess this time around. There still isn’t a release date for Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2 PC.
