Crunchyroll will be treating fans to two new Blu-ray™ SteelBook® releases this fall: the emotionally beautiful film A Silent Voice and the thrilling 2024 action series Kaiju No. 8 Season 1, available October 6 and October 20, respectively. Both will come packaged with special art cards.
Awarded Best Animation Feature Film at the 2016 Japanese Movie Critics Awards, A Silent Voice is based on the original manga created by Yoshitoki Oima (To Your Eternity). The film was produced by the acclaimed studio Kyoto Animation (Liz and the Blue Bird; Violet Evergarden; Sound! Euphonium; Sparks of Tomorrow). It was directed by Naoko Yamada (Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia; The Colors Within; Liz and the Blue Bird), with a screenplay by Reiko Yoshida (Liz and the Blue Bird; The Cat Returns; Violet Evergarden; The Colors Within).

Kaiju No. 8 Season 1 was animated by Production I.G (PSYCHO-PASS; GHOST IN THE SHELL), with kaiju artwork and design supervision by Studio Khara (Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition, Shin Godzilla (Pre Visualization Development)). The anime is adapted from the original manga created by Naoya Matsumoto. Season 1 was directed by Shigeyuki Miya (director and character designer of Onihei; director of The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior) and Tomomi Kamiya (Yotsuiro Biyori). The series composition and screenplay were written by Ichiro Okouchi (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury; story draft and series composition on Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion).
Kafka Hibino dreams of joining the Defense Force and facing Kaijus of Japan. Too bad this dreamer is stuck on cleanup duty. Yet, inspired by his young coworker, he enlists one more time. Just one problem—Kafka has turned into a Kaiju?!
