Army of the Dead Wins “Oscar’s Fan Favorite” Film Award

By Todd BlackMarch 27, 2022
Army Of The Dead

The Oscars has been…something, that’s for sure. And yes, Will Smith totally slapped the crap out of Chris Rock, that was legit. But what was also legit was the fans making their voices heard tonight, and they wanted everyone to hear that Zack Snyder deserves more respect than he gets. Because earlier in the Oscars, The Snyder Cut won the Oscar for “Cheer Moment”, thanks to support of the fans. Now, Zack Snyder’s Justice League was not allowed to be in the “Fan Favorite” award category, so Zack asked fans to vote for his other film of 2021 in Army of the Dead. Oh, they listened.

Because much to the chagrin of many on the internet (we’ve seen the tweets), Army of the Dead did indeed win the Oscar for Fan Favorite movie. Beating out Spider-Man No Way Home, Cinderella, and more to get it. That means that Zack Snyder went 2-for-2 tonight in terms of winning awards. Not bad, huh?

And the cast was happy to thank the fans for the moment:

Now, as some will point out, this doesn’t mean that fans really thought that the movie was the “best of 2021”, but rather, this was their way of showing their support for the Snyder Cut in another way…all the while giving Zack Snyder another win. Still, if you haven’t seen the movie yet, check out our review, we liked it, and so might you!
