Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Gets Xenosaga Character Via Blade

By Todd BlackNovember 30, 2017
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 review Favorite Nintendo Switch Games, Monolith Soft

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is going to be the last major 1st party release for the Nintendo Switch this year. And early reviews are saying that it’s a very worthy addition to the Switch roster. The game is made by Monolith Soft, who are the team behind not just the previous Xenoblade games, but also, the famous Xenosaga series. And it appears that love for that franchise isn’t over, because they’ve brought it into Xenoblade in a literal way.

In the game, there are beings called Drivers, and then there are entities called Blades. Drivers are needed to summon Blades. Well, a character from Xenosaga in KOS-MOS Re: is going to be a Blade in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Pretty cool huh? Here’s her summon:

Now, she will be a rare Blade, so it’s not like you’ll just get her off the bat. But, it’s still a really cool thing when you think about it. Especially when you find out that the original voice actress for the character is voicing her here, AND the original character designer for her helped make the model for her here.

All this goes to show that the past is never truly gone, it just needs a fun way to return.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 arrives on Nintendo Switch on December 1st.
