At INDIE Live Expo this weekend, one of the developers I follow regularly made an appearance and made me very excited. That developer was FuRyu Games, and they brought out a new Cry game with CRYMELIGHT.
During the live stream we did alongside INDIE Live Expo, I noticed almost immediately that the art style was the same as Crymachina. Though the setting did not seem very similar to the series other more futuristic settings of previous games. That is because it is not the same setting; it is essentially a different take on Alice in Wonderland. That said, there is very little connection between the previous two games in the series, Crystar and Crymachina. They all center around similar themes and concepts, but the characters and narratives are different. Though this is the first one that isn’t really an RPG. It is an action roguelike. Odds are there will be light RPG mechanics and even a bit of a deckbuilder for the skills and moves you have access to in the game.
The game appears to center on Alice traversing through Wonderland, trying to find her old memories. There is a Cheshire cat character, a queen of hearts character, and even a mad hatter character. The music that we get to hear in the trailer is definitely done by Sakuzyo. They did the music for Crystar and Crymachina as well.
CRYMELIGHT will be released on November 5th, 2026, in Japan for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
