Ubisoft and Xbox have introduced a new benefit that gives players PC copies of select Ubisoft games they already own digitally on Xbox consoles, at no additional cost. So, if you’ve migrated from the Xbox to PC and you wanted to play those games you’ve already paid for, now you can.
According to Xbox Wire, starting today, anyone purchasing these games digitally on Xbox will immediately receive access to both the Xbox console and PC versions. Existing owners are included as well, although the PC versions will be added through a progressive rollout that runs through August 4. So, if you already own one of these games and do not see it in Ubisoft Connect right away, you may need to give it a few days.
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
- Far Cry 6
- Immortals Fenyx Rising
- Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
- Riders Republic
- Skull and Bones
- The Crew 2
- The Crew Motorfest
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
- Watch Dogs: Legion
Ubisoft recommends updating Ubisoft Connect to the latest version to make sure the games appear correctly in your library. Your Xbox and Ubisoft accounts will also need to be linked.
For most of the supported games, the edition, season pass, and DLC content owned on Xbox will also transfer to the PC version at no additional cost. However, in-game currencies and other consumable items will be stuck on the console version of the games.
Alongside the free PC redemption offer, Ubisoft has also added more premium editions and add-on content to the Xbox PC app. That includes games such as Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, Skull and Bones, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
It would have been nice to see this work both ways but getting a free PC copy of a game you already purchased on Xbox is still a win in my eyes, especially for anyone who plays across both platforms.
