Krauser is a big deal in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. With his release already here, Wolfgang Krauser is greeted by his old opposition in a new animated trailer that gives longtime Fatal Fury fans plenty to chew on.
Thanks to Gundam and Fatal Fury ’90s OVA artist Masami Obari’s involvement, Krauser also gets an explanation for how he survived his last battle with Terry Bogard. Joe, Andy, and Terry meet him at Kaiser Hall in South Town, where Krauser finds himself in what appears to be a tomb for the Krauser family and those who once wore the armor.
Surrounded by the weight of his family’s legacy, Krauser is inspired not to let that name die. Instead, he expresses his desire to win and reclaim the pride he lost.

Obari-san even included the memorable Joe vs. Krauser moment from Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle. Let’s just say it is hand-breakingly exciting to see that reference make its way back into the spotlight.
There are other nods to the Fatal Fury movies that Obari and SNK helped create, making this trailer feel like a treat for fans who have followed the series for years. The hype is real, especially when it comes to seeing what happens next on the anime side.
Surprisingly enough, the Wolves do not have to face Krauser alone this time. Metro City backup arrives in the form of Chun-Li and Ken after Joe, Andy, and Terry fail to take him down. Young Rock is also ready to jump in and help.
Here are both versions of the trailer.
There are more updates coming for the first anniversary of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, including a major discount for the game. As for the anime side of things, it is hard to say if this is it for the title’s story, but there is a lot to unpack with the war that appears to be coming.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
