Harajuku-core trailblazers HANABIE. have released their new banger “Metamorphose!” and the official music video. The band’s heaviest and catchiest track yet, “Metamorphose!” is inspired by superheroes and battling against the forces of darkness.
Speaking about today’s drop, vocalist Yukina commented:
“This time it’s a HANABIE. style hero song! Reminiscent of a bit of those heroes and girl warriors…and magic tales…that we adored as a kid. It’s a powerful, dark and chaotic song! We hope to be your hero! Please have fun listening to every bit of the intricate sounds in this song.”
Guitarist and vocalist Matsuri said:
“The theme this time is… What if HANABIE. would do the theme song for an afternoon hero anime・・・!? That’s the concept we wrote this song under! Everyone must have a time where they want to go back to being a child. Maybe not everyone but I believe this catchy and chaotic song was made possible by the HANABIE. now! Please listen to it many times~!!”
Bassist Hettsu shared:
“A HANABIE.-like hero song! It’s a girl version superhero (sentai) song! It has catchy phrases overall but other than the chorus the band sound is a very hard-core heavy sound where you can sense the villain and hero(heroine) fighting and hope you can all feel that! Let’s all listen to this song and transform into strong-mode self ⭐”
HANABIE. drummer Chika also commented:
“With the theme being heroes, we played the song so that it would be both strong and charming! We wrote this song while imagining each one of you becoming a hero and having fun with all your might when we perform, so please listen to it a lot and come out to have fun! I hope that everyone who listens to this song will be a hero to someone!”
Before today, the trailblazing quartet shared “OTAKU Lovely Densetsu“ and most recently, “GIRL’S TALK” which together have clocked up a staggering 2.4 million views on YouTube and counting, and 2.1 million streams on Spotify alone.
After making their hotly-anticipated debut at Lollapalooza 2024 last weekend, HANABIE. will next be bringing their high-octane live show Stateside with Jinjer and Born Of Osiris kicking off in September. During their North American trek, the band will also be performing at the inaugural Metal Injection Festival and Mayhem Festival 2024. Their first headlining Australia tour have also been announced in which they will go around 4 cities.
