If you’re a fan of Moon Studios’ latest endeavor, the action RPG No Rest for the Wicked, and have been waiting for the game to reach 1.0 so you can play without another major update changing everything on you, you’ll have to wait a little longer. Moon Studios has announced that No Rest for the Wicked will not leave Early Access in October 2026 as previously planned. The game’s 1.0 release has been pushed back to March 2027 for PC and PlayStation 5.
Release details for the Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 are still update in the air as well. The Xbox versions were initially held back due to the performance concerns with the Xbox Series S. I can only assume this was the same with the Nintendo Switch 2.
According to Moon Studios, the additional development time will be used to improve performance, tighten the game’s class system, and give the entire experience another round of polish before launch.
Considering how much No Rest for the Wicked has changed throughout Early Access, taking a few more months to make sure everything comes together is probably the right move. It may not be the news players hoping to jump into the finished game this October wanted to hear, but I would rather Moon Studios take the extra time than rush 1.0 out the door.
The developer plans to hold several additional closed beta tests over the coming months, followed by an open beta in December 2026. These tests will give the community another opportunity to provide feedback during the final stretch of development.
Moon Studios will also continue sharing updates through its Wicked Inside developer diaries on the Moon Studios YouTube channel. These videos will give players a closer look at the development process, including design decisions, upcoming content, and any issues the team is working to address before launch.

Founders Pack Deadline Has Been Extended
Moon Studios had previously announced that players who purchased No Rest for the Wicked before July 10, 2026, would receive a Founders Pack containing several exclusive in-game rewards. With the game’s delay, that deadline has now been extended to January 1, 2027, for PC players.
Anyone who purchased the game after the original July 10 cutoff will be retroactively included, so you won’t miss out if you bought it between then and the announcement of the new deadline.
PlayStation 5 preorders are expected to begin in January 2027. Players who preorder the PS5 version will also be eligible to receive the Founders Pack.
The Founders Pack includes:
- Spirit Cavern, a handcrafted secret hideout that brings part of Moon Studios’ history into the world of No Rest for the Wicked.
- Sayer’s Vow, a unique sword in the stone that can only be obtained by early adopters.
- A custom Founder’s Tag that identifies players who supported the game before its 1.0 release.
- Access to an exclusive Public Beta Test Realm, allowing Founders to test and provide feedback on future updates even after the game launches.
No Rest for the Wicked is currently available through Steam Early Access. The full 1.0 version is now scheduled to launch for PC and PlayStation 5 in March 2027, while release windows for Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 have not been announced.
