How to Bypass the Red Prince Fight in Remnant 2

By Keith MitchellJuly 24, 2023
Remnant 2 - Red Prince Quest

At one point in your adventure with Remnant 2, you may come face to face with the Red Prince, who will offer you a choice. Either give him a tribute or fight him. Sounds simple, right? Except, there’s a catch, and we’re going to break it down in this guide.

So, what’s the deal with the Red Prince?

I’ve only encountered him in the Guiled Chambers, but given the randomness of Remnant 2, there’s a good chance he’ll appear elsewhere. You’ll know when you’re able to meet up with him, as he’ll be sitting on his throne.

At this point, I’d reevaluate your choice and then take a look in your bag to see if you have the Crimson King Coin x3.  If you don’t, you need to kill yourself, so you can fight through the mobs and force an encounter with the stronger mob. You’ll know what it is as it makes that loud-sounding pitch sound.  Once you kill that, you’ll get the Crimson King Coin.

Repeat that until you get three of the coins, then head back to the Red Prince.

As soon as you step into his room,  he’ll give you a long speech and then give you a choice. You can either give him tribute, or you can fight him. For this guide, we’re going to help you bypass the fight, as it’s a pain if you’re underleveled and undergeared.

Remnant 2 - The Red Prince Tribute

IF you have the three coins, he’ll take them as tribute. But then, he’ll instantly kill you. No, you didn’t do anything wrong, he’s just that type of person, and he needed to enforce to you that he is absolute. It wasn’t you; it was him.

Once you respawn, check your inventory and you’ll notice have an item called the Bloody Steel Splinter.

He will only take a specific coin that you’ll have picked up during an elite mob fight (the one with the high-pitched noise), and he’ll want three of them. If you only offer him 1 or 2, he’ll get pissed and fight you. On the other hand, if you do manage to get 3 of those coins, he’ll gladly take them, but he’ll also do this in return.

So, yeah. the Red Prince in Remnant 2 is a big jerk face.
