Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Trailer Shows Off New Abilties and More

During the 2022 The Game Awards, a brand new trailer for Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was shown. You may recall that the call was revealed earlier in May 2022, but the developer wanted to save the good stuff until it was ready.

I’d say they’re more than ready now, with the reveal of the new trailer.

Now we know that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, with an older and more experienced Cal Kestis no longer a Padawan, but a Jedi, trying to keep his head attached to his body While still having the Empire, who as keen on finding him and putting an end to him before, still on his trail.

The trailer gave us a look at new force and lightsaber abilities, including new finishing moves, and showing off a blue Crossguard lightsaber. The last time we saw one of these was when Kylo Ren was wielding one.

Now that Cal is older, undoubtedly frustrated, and ever lonely, you have to wonder if he’s ever been tempted by the Dark Side. We’ve seen glimpses of this in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and I’m sure that Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games will revisit this.

Needless to say, if you were a fan of the original game, then you’ve been waiting for this follow-up, just like I have. I enjoyed Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, despite the numerous bugs that game had during its first few months. Here’s to hoping when Wars Jedi: Survivor is released, it will have fewer issues so that we all can continue the trek through the Star Wars universe without getting stuck in a never-ending loop, again.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor releases on March 17, 2023, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
