Zombie Army 4 is Getting Free Next-Gen Upgrades This Week

Popping zombie melons in 4K just became reality.

Developer Rebellion reveled on their Twitter yesterday that the latest in the Zombie Army series, Dead War, will be getting next gen upgrades for all next gen consoles over the course of this week. These upgrades will include 4K resolutions and improved frame rates and even cross platform play for the PC players on Steam, Epic and the Windows Store.

The first of these updates has already rolled out for the PS5 to coincide with the April PS Plus monthly roll out. PS5 players can expect 4K resolution, 60FPS and DRS enabled (essentially lowers the resolution to keep a steady frame rate when required) and faster load times, sadly there isn’t a 1080p, 120FPS mode for those of you who are using 120 monitors.

The Xbox update will come out tomorrow on the 8th. For those of you on the Series S you’ll be getting a 1080p with 60FPS upgrade and faster load times, while Series X players will be getting a quality and performance mode. Quality mode will give you 4K resolution with 60FPS while Performance mode will deliver 1080p resolution with 120FPS, once again 4K will have DRS enabled to ensure the frame rate stays stable at the cost of resolution.

The resident Brit of Outerhaven, however, don't expect refinement from me as I swear like a sailor and I will die on the hill I chose to fight on.
