Japan’s Top 35 Best-Selling Switch Games Sees Animal Crossing New Horizons On Top

The Nintendo Switch has now had four complete years of life. A life that (despite only being halfway through) has catapulted Nintendo back into the top slot in terms of game makers. Because the Switch is selling like hotcakes (over 80 million and counting) and they’ve made a plethora of exclusive titles that have been million-sellers as well as nominated titles for various awards including multiple Game of the Year winners. One of which was Animal Crossing New Horizons, which blew everyone away in 2020 with how well it sold.

But now, via a list from Famitsu, we know that Animal Crossing New Horizons is the top-selling Switch game EVER in Japan. And in fact, it’s about 2.5 million ABOVE the second place holder in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The list itself is very interesting and has some big-name titles in curious spots of the 35 mentioned.
