Free Mortal Shell: Rotten Autumn Update adds a New Quest, Photo Mode and more

While I’m not completely sure if the Mortal Shell: Rotten Autumn update, which was announced today, is what the Mortal Shells Twitter account was teasing yesterday. Either way, I don’t care as this update is pretty amazing on its own.

Today, Cold Symmetry has announced and released the Mortal Shell: Rotten Autumn, which is a free update for all versions of the game. This update adds a photo mode to the game, so now you can use the in-game mode to take pictures of the beautiful yet dangerous world.

There’s also a new mini-quest that is available via the frog that we all visited at one point or another but wasn’t sure what his purpose was. There are also multiple shell shaders added to the game as well, so don’t miss out on those. An alternative boss soundtrack has also been added to the game, courtesy of black metal legends Rotting Christ. This will replace the existing theme when facing off against the bosses in the game.

Update: We’ve added a guide on how to lock the shell shaders.

If you’re like me and was looking for a reason to play Mortal Shell yet again, this update is it. I’m not sure how long it is but any update is better than nothing.

Mortal Shell is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC (Epic Games Store). You can check out the review of the game, P.S., I loved it.
