Cyberpunk 2077 PC requirements revealed

Requirements aren’t as steep as once originally thought

The wait is almost over and CD Projekt Red’s upcoming title, Cyberpunk 2077 is among upon us and I know many of you (including myself) can’t wait. And if you’re like me, you’ve already decided to play the game on PC, but you aren’t sure if your current battle station is up to the task? Well, thankfully the PC specs for the game were released during today’s Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire Livestream.

And get this, they’re really tame. I was expecting the requirements to be super demanding, but they aren’t. Even those who are still rocking the AMD FX series process can get in on the action.

Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 or Windows 10 64-bit (I’d imagine Windows 8 as well)
  • DirectX Version: DirectX 12
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD AMD FX-8310
  • Memory: 8GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 780 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 470
  • Storage: 70GB HDD or SSD (SDD recommended)

Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • DirectX Version: DirectX 12
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4970 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G
  • Memory: 12GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 1060 GB or AMD Radeon R9 Fury
  • Storage: 70GB SSD

Looks like CD Projekt Red has optimized the heck out of this game. Of course, we’ll find out once it’s released in November. However, keep in mind that these specs are likely for running the game at 1080p and that running it at 1440p or even 4K will be much more demanding. Cyberpunk 2077 will also take advantage of Nvidia’s RTX feature set and Ray-Tracing will be available for anyone who has access to an RTX 2000 or 3000 series graphics card.

It still doesn’t feel real. CD Projekt Red announced Cyberpunk 2077 several years ago, and even though it’s been delayed a few times, the game is almost here. After playing more than my fair share of Cyberpunk-themed games, the next evolution of that genre is almost here. I can’t wait to dive in and I’m sure many of you feel the same way.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases on November 19th, 2020 for PC (Epic Games Store & Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia.
