Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. Maxiboost On is heading to the PS4

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. Maxiboost On

Bandai Namco announced they’ll be porting the 2016 Gundam arcade game, Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. Maxiboost On over to the PlayStation 4. What’s more, it will be available for not only the East but will also make it’s way to North America as well. This will be the first time the will be available to play in the West (outside of an arcade machine making its way over).

The game is a 2 vs. 2 fighting game (think Virtual-On) where players can pick up between 183 playable Gundam and Mobile Suits, from various iterations of the series While allowing for various mechanics that won’t be unrecognized by most fans of anime brawlers (or Bandai Namco games). Including an EX meter to unleash special attacks.

The game is also set to include a story mode that can be played with up to four friends, aping to emulate arcade-style action alongside fanatic spectacle fighter fun with fan favorites.

While originally just a set of collectible toys from the late 70 spiraled into a phenomenon (as do most Japanese things that center themselves around collecting as many things as you can), and while its not the first Gundam video game it will hopefully find itself a place with fans.

Currently, there is no known release date, other than it will be released sometime in 2020.
