CAPCOM Announces Project REsistance for Tokyo Game Show

By Karl SmartAugust 29, 2019
Resident Evil Project Resistance

It’s almost time for Tokyo Game Show and that means something is in the water where it comes to gaming from Japanese companies.

Discovered by Twitter user “Nibel“, CAPCOM has announced that it is going to reveal the teaser trailer for its next project: Project Resistance. The interesting thing about this announcement is the red letters RE in the title of the game, which is the call sign of the Resident Evil franchise. It’s possible that this is the game which has recently had applications open to Alpha test as we covered here.

The teaser trailer, which is slated to drop on September 9th at 3pm UTC will give us more of an idea of what’s going on. But for those of you who need time translation, it means the trailer will drop on September 9th, 2019, at 11 am USA Eastern Time, or September 10th at 1am Australian Eastern Time.

From the next piece of information we found from the official site: https://www.project-resistance.com/en/ It looks like this is going to have game play that the developers will show off on stage.

It also looks like people (and by people we mean Residents of Japan… Sorry everyone else) will be able to advance book a time during these 4 days to play the game themselves. Play sessions look to be about 40 minutes in length, but the demo will probably be about 5-10 minutes like the Resident Evil 2 Remake was back last year.

Teaser Trailer confirmed! But what is it? We have no idea at this time. All we can confirm is that the Youtube link goes to the Official Resident Evil Youtube Channel, and the Facebook link goes to the Official Resident Evil Facebook page. So CAPCOM has you covered when that trailer drops on September 9th.

So the last thing we know for sure is that the game will be available on Playstation 4, Xbox One and Steam… Sorry Nintendo Switch owners, you’re mandatory question of “Will it come to Switch?” is “No” at this stage.

So what do people think? Are we getting Resident Evil 3 Remake? Or is this Resident Evil 8? Or maybe the return of Resident Evil: Outbreak? Or is it something completely different game in the Resident Evil Universe? Let us know on our Twitter page and Facebook what you think and we’ll keep you up to date about what everything is about when the teaser trailer and gameplay drop in September.
