Mario and Sonic Duke It Out Again in Death Battle’s 100th Episode

By Todd BlackOctober 17, 2018
Mario Vs Sonic Death Battle

For over seven years, Death Battle has been answering the questions that geeks and nerds across all manner of media have had. “Who would win in a fight?” Could Superman beat Goku? Was the Terminator better than Robocop? Who is the better swordsman, Link or Cloud? For 99 episodes, they’ve done various battles across games, TV shows, movies, comics, anime, and more. But today, they released their 100th episode, and it’s one that will surely set the internet on fire. For it’s a full-0n re-evaluation of Mario vs Sonic.

What do I mean by “re-evaluation”? Well, Death Battle actually did Mario vs Sonic before, in their first season in fact. However, that was when the show was very young, research had to be rushed at times, and they didn’t have the set rules like they do now. In that first fight, they used Sonic’s Archie comics run as evidence of his winning. Whereas in the 100th episode, they focus on the games (and certain supporting material) because that’s the “main versions” of both Mario and Sonic.

Another thing that makes this fight so epic is that unlike the first fight, this one is animated by a professional studio, Blind Ferret. And trust me when I say that it lives up to the hype.

So who wins? Well, you’re going to have to watch and find out for yourself. Why? Because…it’s time…FOR A DEATH BATTLE!!!!
