DC Universe Online Celebrates Superman 80th Anniversary With Death Of Superman Content

DC Universe Online

DC Universe Online takes a lot of cues from the comics, and it allows them to create some very interesting content for their MMORPG. And coming up with new content helps them keep the game fresh for players.

Recently, we talked to them about their Aquaman content, and the other day they revealed that in honor of Superman’s 80th anniversary, they were going to be releasing 3 sets of content tied to the legendary/infamous story, “Death of Superman”.

Part 1 is out right now, here is the synopsis:

“Doomsday is back and bigger than ever, and that’s never good news for Superman. Luckily, this time he has back up in the form of exobyte-enhanced heroes, and based on how strong Doomsday is looking and the looks those exobyte-enhanced villains are giving, he’s going to need it.”

This content brings a new version of Metropolis to DC Universe Online, one that is more open-world. The only requirement is that you’re Level 10 or higher. There will also be daily and weekly missions for you to complete regardless of which side you are on.

There’s also a special caption contest going on right now where you can get special copies of Action Comics #1000. See the site for details.

As noted, Part 1 of the Death of Superman content is live now, Part 2 is coming June 6th.
