It was announced that Makoto Yukimura’s Vinland Saga manga will be receiving a television anime adaptation. Wit Studio (Attack on Titan, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, The Ancient Magus’ Bride) will be handling the production of the anime series. Kodansha Comics currently holds the license to the manga series, having recently released the manga’s ninth omnibus volume.
The series will stream on Amazon Prime in both Japan and overseas!
Kodansha Comics describes the story of Vinland Saga as follows:
Thorfinn is a son of one of the Vikings’ greatest warriors, but when his father is killed in battle by the mercenary leader Askeladd, he swears to have his revenge. Thorfinn joins Askeladd’s band in order to challenge him to a duel and ends up caught in the middle of a war for the crown of England.
