Redbox Is Now Renting Nintendo Switch Games

But there’s a catch

Yesterday, it was posted on Reddit that Redbox was starting to rent Nintendo Switch games. Today, we have a bit more news regarding this.  Redbox reached out to us to provided some more information and their plans. While they are in fact renting Nintendo Switch games, they are only doing so in select cities. At least for now, only Seattle, San Antonio, and Portland, Oregon, will have access to the Nintendo Switch games. Due to the limited number of cities, I can only imagine that this is a test run and that more cities will carry the games as well.

In addition, they won’t be renting the entire library, instead only certain games will be available.  As of today, the following games will be available.

  • Marrio + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
  • Splatoon 2
  • Pokkén Tournament DX
  • Lego The Ninjago Movie videogame
  • NBA2K19
  • Just Dance 2018 (Available Oct. 24th)

We’re reached out to Redbox to find out if they plan on extending to other cities. As well as if they’ll carry more games in the future.

Needless to say this is great news. Now that Redbox is renting Nintendo Switch games, gamers will be able to get a taste of Switch games and decide if they like them or not. Let’s just hope this makes it out to other cities first.
