Today at TGS 2015, Square Enix confirmed a new Kingdom Hearts title for PS4.
Entitled Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, it is meant to be the (hopefully) final title to fill the gap between the previous installments and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3. Included in the HD package are two main titles and a movie version of another title, staying true to the format Square Enix has set for the previous HD packages. Included titles are:
- Kingdom Hearts [Dream Drop Distance] HD, a fully remastered version of the original 3DS title for PS4.
- Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage –, a completely new chapter starring Aqua that takes place directly after Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep
- Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ [chi] Back Cover, a movie containing important scenes from the upcoming mobile game
This announcement comes out of Sony’s Tokyo Game Show 2015 Conference, and might explain the leak from last week about a Kingdom Hearts 2.9. Or maybe that’s an entirely different thing. God I hope not.
Square Enix also released some promotional screenshots, and stated the official announcement trailer will debut on the Kingdom Hearts Youtube channel this Thursday. You can view the images below.
