WEBTOON Entertainment just unveiled new data about its contributions to the global creator economy at a press conference in Seoul earlier today, including milestones in how the company is investing in Creators and expanding its entertainment ecosystem.
Newly appointed President Yongsoo Kim highlighted the company’s next phase of growth, centered on scaling WEBTOON’s Creator-first ecosystem and expanding storytelling formats globally. At the event, WEBTOON revealed more about its investment in Creators, highlighting that the company has paid out over $2.7B paid to creators globally over the past five years and is investing more than $47M this year in creator support and content discovery.
“A healthy creator ecosystem is essential to the long-term growth of WEBTOON and the broader entertainment industry,” said Yongsoo Kim, President of WEBTOON Entertainment. “We will continue investing in creators and the tools that help their stories reach audiences around the world.”
The announcement underscores WEBTOON’s commitment to expand the global Creator ecosystem, where Creators, content, and audiences reinforce each other to build new global fandoms and hits.
