Sony is raising PlayStation Plus prices again, because being part of the PlayStation ecosystem apparently just keeps getting more expensive.

Starting on May 20, 2026, PlayStation Plus prices for new customers in select regions will increase, with 1-month subscriptions moving to $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP and 3-month subscriptions increasing to $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP.
According to PlayStation, current PlayStation Plus subscribers will not be affected unless their subscription lapses or they change their existing membership. The exception here is Turkey and India, where existing users will also see pricing changes.
If this feels familiar, that’s because Sony has been steadily increasing prices across the PlayStation brand over the past few years. We’ve already seen price hikes for the PS5, PS5 Digital Edition, and even the PlayStation Portal in several regions. Now PlayStation Plus is getting hit again.
This also is not the first time Sony has raised PlayStation Plus pricing. Back in September 2023, Sony rolled out a major global increase for its 12-month PlayStation Plus tiers, pushing PlayStation Plus Essential from $59.99 to $79.99 annually, while Premium jumped from $119.99 to $159.99. While during Spring 2025, bumping the price of the PlayStation Plus 12-month price for Canadian subscribers.
At the time, Sony said the increase would allow the company to continue delivering “high-quality games and value-added benefits” for the service. Nearly three years later, we’re hearing the same reasoning again as the cost of staying in the PlayStation ecosystem keeps going up. Ironically, while PlayStation is raising its pricing on PSN, Xbox has punched down its prices for Xbox Game Pass.
And honestly, this is starting to become a trend with PlayStation. Hardware prices are going up, accessories are getting more expensive, and now subscriptions continue creeping upward as well. At some point, players are going to start asking if the value still matches the price.
