Pikmin 4 Getting Special New Update Next Month

By Todd BlackOctober 22, 2025
Pikmin 4, Shigeru Miyamoto

Pikmin 4 will be remembered for many things, but key among those things is that this was the game that FINALLY helped break through to gamers, as it’s the best-selling title in the franchise by a large margin. The Nintendo team broke down what they did in the first three main titles and then tweaked it so that gamers of all types would have more fun in it, and it worked. In fact, it worked so well that, just like with certain other franchises, we’re awaiting the next game’s arrival on Nintendo Switch 2. However, before that happens, Nintendo has a surprise for fans.

Specifically, Nintendo revealed today that in November, Pikmin 4 will get a special content update! What’s in it? First, there’s a new Photo Mode, so you can take pictures of the world and the many Pikmin within it. Second, there will be more “Decor Pikmin” that you can find on your travels. Finally, there will be a “Relaxed” difficulty mode, so that you can more easily get through the game, should you desire. You can check out the trailer for the content update below:

Furthering the love of Pikmin, Nintendo also dropped the combined version of “Close to You,” showing off the special Nintendo Pictures shorts that dropped not too long ago:
