News: Spinoff Series For Trinity Seven

By Isaiah JonesJuly 12, 2018

Trinity Seven: Seven Days

During the August issue of ‘Kadokawa’ contained news about Trinity Seven: Seven Days. It was said that this spinoff will be a “Slapstick romantic comedy”. The spinoff will feature ‘Kenji Saito’ and ‘Akinari Nao’ the story and art makers respectively of the Trinity Seven manga. The anime first came out in 2011 and has 3,00,000+ copies printed. Trinity Seven: Seven Days will debut on August 9th. ‘Myanimelist’ describes the original Trinity Seven manga as follows:

“Everyday is a normal day in the small town where Kasuga Arata lives. However, everything changed on the day of the Black Sun, and following it, a magician appears before him. The Black Sun caused the Breakdown Phenomenon which destroyed the town where he lives. Because of this, his normal life was artificially reconstructed by a Grimoire that his childhood friend had left. Just what is the purpose of the magician coming to the town? What will he do with the Grimoire’s keepsake?”

Trinity Seven (Anime)

Trinity Seven received an anime adaptation during the fall 2014 season. The anime ran for 12 episodes and received an OVA titled Trinity Seven: Nanatsu no Taizai to Nana Madoushi. ‘Myanimelist’ describes the original anime as follows:

“One day, the bright red sun stopped shining, causing the “Breakdown Phenomenon”—the destruction of Arata Kasuga’s town and the disappearance of the people inhabiting it. All, however, is not yet lost; by utilizing the magical grimoire given to him by his childhood friend and cousin Hijiri Kasuga, Arata’s world gets artificially reconstructed.

In order to investigate the phenomenon, Lilith Asami appears before Arata, whose artificial world suddenly disintegrates. He is given two choices: hand over the book, or die. However, Arata chooses the third option—enrolling in the top-secret magic school Royal Biblia Academy, where six other magical users await him. Together with Lilith, these six form the Trinity Seven, the elite of the school who each bolster their own power and skill.

With the ambition to save Hijiri and the help of his newfound friends, Arata stops at nothing to prevent the destruction of his beloved hometown and to bring his best friend back.”
