Mario Kart World Gets Gameplay Showcase During Nintendo Treehouse Demos

The world is your race course.

It was very telling that Nintendo started its big Switch 2 Direct with Mario Kart World. This was the game that people had been waiting for a long time, and The Big N knew that it would be worth the wait because of just how impressive and big it was going to be. At the Nintendo Treehouse live event that happened today, the game got not one but TWO gameplay demos to showcase two different parts of the game before the game-focused Direct on the 17. The first demo focused on the Grand Prix mode and highlighted how the game is far more vast than you’d expect.

As they showed off the expansive courses, the detail in each of them is plain to see. Plus, you’re not just racing on the courses, you’re racing through the world to get to the next course once the race is done! Additionally, there are new ways to get across the courses, including grinding on rails to get past your foes in style!

Then, the team shifted to the Knockout Rally mode, which will be a massive race across the game world where at each “checkpoint,” players will be knocked out, and with 24 players on each map, that means there’s PLENTY of potential for chaos and getting crafy with who gets the boot! Some of the team even mentioned that this mode is their favorite addition to Mario Kart World because of how everything goes so fast and crazy.

By all accounts, this game will be a huge hit when it launches on the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5th!
