Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment Gets New Character Art and Details

Meet the Champions...and the maid!

Hyrule Warriors Age Of Imprisonment

Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment is only a month away from its release on Nintendo Switch 2. The game takes place in the early times of Hyrule, where King Rauru and Queen Sonia rule. Princess Zelda is transported to that period and must aid them in fighting off Ganondorf and his army of monsters. Alongside those three will be Mineru, Rauru’s sister and resident genius, and the Four Champions, who have been a mystery since their appearance in Tears of the Kingdom. However, today, Nintendo dropped some key new details about the champions alongside new art…and a character reveal!

Let’s start with the translated names of the four champions:

The names of the Sages in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (translated from Japanese):

Zora Sage: Kia
Gerudo Sage: Ardi
Goron Sage: Agasta
Rito Sage: Krafika

Their faces are still being hidden, but I think that's something they might want to reveal in-game. pic.twitter.com/zYmDTZNoPu

Very interesting figures, and Ardi, the Gerudo Champion, seems to be the one we saw in a recent trailer who appears at odds with what Ganondorf is doing during the Imprisoning War. However, if you want some more detailed descriptions of the Champions, we’ve got that, too, alongside the reveal of a maid that will assist Zelda during her trials:

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Character Descriptions:

Zora Champion – A Zora Princess skilled in martial arts. Her bravery and courage inspire her people.

Goron Champion – The leader of the Goron tribe. He is an intelligent and generous person. He has known Rauru for a… pic.twitter.com/YXMo8eZpEY

What this highlights about Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment is that the current Champions have much different personalities than the modern ones. Just as important, this new maid could serve a key gameplay function in the non-battle segments, as Nintendo/Koei Tecmo has teased that we’ll get to see more of what the ancient version of Hyrule was like between missions.

All will be revealed when the game drops on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 6th.
