First Look at Luke’s Street Fighter VI Perfect Win Animation

By Keith MitchellJuly 14, 2022
Street Fighter 6

Now that the 2022 Japan Expo is taking place, and Street Fighter VI is playable for anyone at the show, we now have our first look at a perfect animation. This video was captured by Capcom’s brand manager, Matthew Edwards, and shows off Luke’s perfect win animation or celebrity dance. Luke does this little jig, and honestly, it reminds me of Popeye, with those massive forearms. It’s quite humorous.

This is certainly new. In other Street Fighter games, you’d get a unique sound that signals the perfect, which the words “Perfect K.O” filling the screen, along with a different win quote. I didn’t know this was a thing, and it wasn’t something that was showcased in the prior Street Fighter VI videos on YouTube. Now I want to see the rest of the perfect win animations, especially Chun-Li’s.

Saw one of the attendees getting a perfect win with Luke and asked them to do it again so I could capture it #JapanExpo2022

Luke is definitely from the TikTok generation 😂

I’m now wondering what the other perfect win animations look like 🤔 pic.twitter.com/oKWn1erbYy

The 2022 Japan Expo takes place from July 14 – 16th, 2022, and I’m more than certain that we’ll see or hear about more Street Fighter VI News.

Don’t forget that Street Fighter VI will also make an appearance at EVO 2022 and be playable to all attendees. We still don’t know what version of the build will be, but I’m sure most won’t care. I’m still waiting to get my first hands-on with the game.

While we still don’t have a release date for the title, Capcom has stated it will be released in 2023. It will be available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) when it does.
