It has only been a week since the first trailer for the revamped DragonSword, DragonSword: Awakening, went live. Hound 13 has already dropped a brand new trailer that showcases a hero you can play as in the game.
This character is Kalien. She is described as “A Spiritist who fights alongside Sur, a fox spirit imbued with the power of fire — Kalien.” The trailer showcases Kalien using summons and fire abilities. She can summon a fox spirit to aid her in combat. She seems to be a summoner-type mage character, with most of her abilities showing off summoning different fire spirits to destroy the enemies you face.
What we see from the description of the Trailer helps explain Kalien’s motives as well. “She is traveling across the Continent of Orbis with Dana to find Dana’s mother. Witness her powerful flame magic, Stun Status Ailments, and spectacular explosive fire combat for yourself.” That likely means she is a debuffer as well as a summoner. It will be interesting to see what other characters are planned for the game and how you can unlock them.
A demo is planned for Steam Next Fest in June 2026. The game’s launch is targeted for July 2026. It is currently slated for a Steam release.
