Donkey Kong Bananza created some new Donkey Kong fans for the owners of the Nintendo Switch 2. Today, it looks like Nintendo is looking to capitalize on that to get more eyes on Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. It is receiving a Nintendo Switch update today!
The first big surprise to this specific update is that Dixie Kong is now a playable assist! Dixie Kong lets you go even higher than before on your jumps. She also gives you more distance to your jumps as you play as Donkey Kong. Another new feature of this update is Turbo Attack Mode. Race through the game’s stages going at breakneck speeds.
Nintendo Switch 2 gets an upgrade with this update, too! Visual fidelity is increased. The load times have been reworked on Nintendo Switch 2 to work on the faster system. Now it loads much quicker between stages. Nintendo also added Gameshare support to the game for Nintendo Switch 2 as well. If one person has the game on Nintendo Switch 2, they can add friends with either a separate Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 to play the game with them. The second player will assist by playing as Diddy Kong or Dixie Kong.
Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is available on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The updates discussed in the video are free and available with the purchase of the main game.
