Dbrand Turns Valve’s New Steam Machine Into A Portal Companion Cube

Valve has only just revealed the new Steam Machine that is planned for a 2026 launch, and Dbrand is already looking to cash in on the excitement. The company has announced one of the first case replacements for the system, and thanks to the cube shape of this new Steam Machine, Dbrand landed on the perfect idea; a full companion cube design inspired by the Portal series.

While you cannot buy it just yet, Dbrand has opened up an interest page for the case. From there, you can let them know you are excited about the design and submit your email address so they can notify you when it goes live, along with updates on any other Steam Machine related products they cook up.

It is hard not to see the appeal. The new Steam Machine already has people comparing it to Nintendo’s GameCube thanks to its chunky, cubelike design. Dbrand is going one step further and tapping into Valve’s own history by turning the system into a companion cube that looks like it rolled straight out of the Aperture Science test chambers.

There is no pricing or firm release date information for the case just yet. But given Dbrand’s track record with console and handheld skins and shells, it is safe to say this will not be the last Steam Machine accessory we see from them. Whether you are in it for the meme potential, the Portal nostalgia, or just want your PC to stand out from the crowd, this is likely going to be one of the most eye-Steam Machine shells on the market when it finally releases.
