Good news for anyone playing Crimson Desert on more than one platform, or anyone considering it, as Pearl Abyss has officially added Cross-Save with the game’s latest update. Players can now continue a single adventure across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store without having to start Kliff’s journey over again.
The feature arrives as part of the Version 1.14.00 update, nearly four months after Crimson Desert was released on March 19, 2026. Alongside Cross-Save, the update includes several bug fixes, localization improvements, and additional stability improvements across all platforms.
Once Cross-Save has been enabled, character progression, story progress, and inventory can be carried between supported versions of the game. This should be especially useful for anyone who prefers playing on a console but occasionally wants to continue exploring Pywel on a PC or handheld gaming PC.
That flexibility is especially welcome for a game as massive as Crimson Desert. In The Outerhaven’s review, Jordan Andow spent nearly 70 hours exploring Pywel and praised its rewarding exploration, deep combat, memorable characters, and enormous open world, ultimately calling it a new benchmark for open-world action-adventure games.
To set everything up, players must open the Save Game menu and select the Cross-Save Settings option. From there, they can scan the displayed QR code or follow the provided link, sign in with their platform account, and connect it to a Pearl Abyss ID. The process is not completely automatic, as players must manually upload their latest progress to the shared Cross-Save slot before moving to another platform, and each Pearl Abyss ID only receives one shared Cross-Save slot.
Full instructions for creating an account and linking supported platforms can be found on the official Pearl Abyss account-linking website.
However, Cross-Save does not include Cross-Buy, meaning players must own a separate copy of Crimson Desert on every platform they plan to use. Any paid items purchased on one platform will also remain disabled when playing on another platform unless those items have been purchased there as well.
Mac players are being left out of the feature for now, although Pearl Abyss says Mac Cross-Save support will be added in a future update. For everyone else, this is still a welcome addition that makes it much easier to continue playing Crimson Desert across multiple devices.
Crimson Desert is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac.
