Control Resonant has officially gone gold, with Remedy Entertainment announcing the milestone on social media. While the game’s digital release remains set for September 24, 2026, the physical release has been pushed back to October 15, 2026. Remedy stated that it needs a little more time to deliver the physical version of the game, meaning those planning to pick up a disc copy will have to wait a few extra weeks.
In this follow-up, players will be reintroduced to Dylan Faden, the brother of Control protagonist Jesse Faden. Following the events of the original game, the Hiss has managed to escape the Oldest House and spread into Manhattan, while Jesse is now missing. After spending years confined by the Federal Bureau of Control and eventually becoming corrupted by the Hiss, Dylan must now forge his own path, fight back against the threats consuming Manhattan, and search for his sister while discovering what kind of person he wants to become.
We’ve had the chance to play Control Resonant twice now, with our first hands-on taking place during Summer Game Fest 2026. Even during that earlier session, we came away feeling that Remedy was onto something special, delivering an amazing experience while showing that the studio is willing to take some chances with this new adventure instead of simply recreating what worked in Control.
We recently got another opportunity to play the game during a special event, this time spending three hours with Control Resonant, giving us an even better look at Dylan’s journey and what Remedy has planned for the follow-up.
Control Resonant releases digitally on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The physical editions will follow on October 15, 2026.
