It was announced by Studio Pierrot that production has resumed on the Boruto anime after a 2-year hiatus. The anime will be titled Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, which is also the title of the manga that serves as the sequel to Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
As of now, it is unknown if Two Blue Vortex will adapt the source material faithfully or follow the same formula of the previous series by going with a majority of anime-only content and sprinkling in official manga arcs here and there.
The original Boruto anime ran for 6 years, premiering on April 5, 2017, and ending on March 26, 2023. Two Blue Vortex’s premiere date, episode count, staff, and cast are not known at this time. The manga is currently being published in North America by VIZ Media.
