We saw a bunch of great games during the recent Xbox Partner Showcase, several of them that I’ve been looking forward to, and some that I didn’t know about that I really want to play. One of them being Bluey: Happy Snaps. No, I’m being quite serious.
Ever since my daughter turned me on to the Bluey cartoon, I’ve been hooked. There’s just something about the show that checks all the boxes for me. An adorable cast, a family dynamic, a loving mom, but more than anything, a cool-as-heck father, that being Bandit. Perhaps the latter is why I really enjoy the show. Sure, Bluey is the star, and Bingo is funny as all get out, while Chili is that mom we all wish we had. But Bandit? He’s the dad I see myself as.
He’s completely relatable, and if he was real, we’d be best friends. I kid you not, for Halloween 2025, I drove all around town to find a Bandit outfit to wear. And yes, I found one, and yes, I wore it, and everyone loved it.
As for Bluey: Happy Snaps, it’s not my normal type of game. Action RPGs, soulslikes, racing games, fighting games, that’s my wheelhouse. This is a cozy title, something I don’t normally gravitate toward, but I’m definitely making an exception. So what’s it about? The Heeler daughters find their dad’s old camera and embark on a journey, hence the name Happy Snaps. Besides, I can’t wait to be deep into it when my wife walks in and hits me with that “what exactly are you doing” look. Because it’s just that cute.
Bluey: Happy Snaps is going to be a day one purchase, 100%. It’ll hold me over until we either get that new season and/or the upcoming Bluey movie. Can’t wait.
Bluey: Happy Snaps will be available digitally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. A physical retail version will also be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 in select markets.
