Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising is getting some additional combatants this year for Year 2. The six-winged warrior, Sandalphon, will be joining the fray. Beelzebub is his first target. He was revealed last year at CyGames 2024. Noted as the Patriarch of Promises, Sandalphon has a few installs to make him pretty formidable.
Sandalphon’s anti-air seems to stun enough to add more damage with additional combo hits as a bit of a launcher. Sandalphon is a close-range character with some projectiles that help close gaps. Sandalphon’s air dash is also a cool tool. Sandalphon’s kit seems to allow him to do different things per stance. If I were to guess, Sandalphon has at least 3 different stances. Earth, Wind, and Fire, so far. Unlike his regular appearance, his wing count is reduced to 6 from his staggering 12.
Sandalphon will make his mark on February 26th. There will be 4 more additional DLC characters in Spring, Summer, Fall, and Early 2026, also. Sandalphon’s coming may not give Arc World Tour 2024 Finals combatants a good amount of time to soak him in if he’s legal. A month crunch at best before the March date, but for the CyWorld Cup Finals, it’s already too late.
Sandalphon will be available for $7.99 for PlayStation 4 | 5, and Steam, versions of the game.
