Suda51 Dubs Legend of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom As His Favorite 2024 Game

Clearly, he's a man of culture!

Happy New Year’s Eve, everyone! With the new year upon us, you’ll see plenty of “recaps” of 2024 and last-minute mentions of what everyone’s favorite game was. Case in point: shall we talk about Suda51? He’s a man who’s gone to unique places in the games he’s made. Yet, when he was asked about his 2024 “Game of the Year,” he gave an unexpected answer via The Legend of Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom. Mind you, the game is great (as I noted in my review), but that begs the question of why Suda51 liked the game so much. Well, he said to GamesRadar:

“Not that this game needs a shout-out from me or anything, but the game I probably played and dug the most this year was The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. I doubt anyone needs me to recommend this title to them, but… Anyway, I felt it was significantly different from a lot of the other bigger Zelda titles, a bit more cartoonish and closer to the older games in the series, but once you get into it, it really hooks you in. I really loved the world it was set in and all the various details, and again, it just left me feeling like ‘I got to experience Zelda all over again.'”

Many felt that way about the game, and it was seen as Nintendo being truly creative with one of its long-standing franchises. Many are hoping that Princess Zelda will get another title in this vein on the Nintendo Switch 2, and I certainly wouldn’t mind that.
