Harumi Hosono 55th Debut Anniversary Project Begins

By Josh PiedraOctober 22, 2024

In celebration of his 55th debut anniversary in autumn 2024, Haruomi Hosono teams up with Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc. for a multifaceted commemorative project.  As part of this, a digital museum “HOSONO MANDALA” has been confirmed for launch in the autumn of next year in Tokyo, Japan.  In addition, a pop-up store will open in Tokyo to commemorate the November 6 release of “HOSONO HOUSE COVERS.

Next autumn will see the launch of “HOSONO MANDALA”, a digital museum that traces the journey of Haruomi Hosono.  Its teaser video premiered on October 11, and a wide range of related projects and exhibitions will follow in conjunction with the museum.  Hosono wrote new music for the teaser video.

“HOSONO MANDALA” is a museum for people around the globe to feel the world of Haruomi Hosono in both the past and future, which they think they know but do not and which they think they understand but is full of mystery.

Details of the museum will be announced in due course.  This digital museum is planned, edited, and designed by the Misawa Design Institute of Nippon Design Center and its writers.

An official website for the project can be found at the following link: https://hosonoharuomi.jp/
